Character Lock
A recurring cast matters when a film has multiple shots. Filmoyo describes a Character Lock feature for reusing selected characters, but a locked cast is a production aid rather than proof of perfect continuity.
Build a small, repeatable cast
Choose characters with a role in the story, then write down the visual details that should remain stable: silhouette, hair, clothing, color and age cues. Reuse the same character selection across scenes instead of rebuilding the cast from scratch each time.
A compact cast is easier to review than a crowd. Before animating, make sure each proposed frame shows the expected character and that props or wardrobe changes are intentional. This simple continuity list can catch errors the model may not understand from a broad prompt.
Inspect continuity across shots
Compare adjacent frames at the same scale. Look for face, outfit, hand, accessory and background drift. A character may be recognizably similar but still have small differences that distract in a close-up or an edited sequence.
Use the frame-review stage to fix a mismatch before animation where possible. If a generated shot still diverges, consider a different camera angle, a simpler action or a cut that hides the mismatch. No automated consistency feature removes editorial judgment.
The honest limitation
Character Lock should be understood as a consistency control the seller says is available, not a guarantee that every frame will reproduce an identical face or costume. AI image and video systems can introduce artifacts, especially during motion or unusual poses.
For a recurring series, create a reference sheet and keep a human review step. See how the workflow is structured and the storyboard approval guide for ways to catch continuity problems early.
